Aides and abetted by Pakistan’s ISI and its terrorist outfits within this country, Al-Qaeda seems to be spreading across India. This has been clearly indicated by a group of Al-Qaeda operatives arrested in the North-Eat not long ago, as well as the complicity of terrorists trained by or connected with Al-Qaeda in the horrendous Mumbai and Hyderabad bombings.
Al-Qaeda is a chilling example of globalization. In this case it is globalization of Islamic terror. Al-Qaeda literally stalks the whole world from America to Australia, it is fanatically indoctrinated and efficiently trained, it possesses a deadly arsenal that ranges from missiles to nuclear bombs, and funds at its disposal are virtually limitless.
The dimensions of this lethal combination need to be understood at least in broad outline if India is to stand up to this grave challenge to its nationhood.
